Concrete rings are disposed vertically in the ground to create a pit or a well if water table is near the surface.
The concrete ring with no holes is used in the upper part of the well to avoid surface infiltration or for waste pits requiring encapsulation (ashes, sharps) in this case the bottom of the pit should be sealed with concrete.
The concrete ring with holes is used in the bottom part of wells to allow water infiltration or in the bottom part of organic pits to allow organic fluids to infiltrate.
The concrete ring does not suits construction of soak away pit as such. it should be combined with infiltration system.
Materials costs only: 5 to 10 USD
Dimensions:
Size: 1,14m external diameter, 1m internal diameter, 0,6m high. 300 to 350 Kg per ring
Sizing variable : the Ring can be made higher, thicker or larger but this implies higher weight and manutention difficulties. size as proposed is optimal for transport and remote field handling
Scalability: Add the number of ring needed to reach target depth of pit capacity. Combine with or without holes as needed.
